Is that true? I could pick a module off a Corvette in the junkyard?

In all seriousness, hopefully so! I’ve seen this part requested a few times here, so it might be a good thing. No clue about if it works though, waiting for other responses there. Is this part the same on all the years with the flip up headlights? Or will they interchange? Comes to mind I’ve heard different part numbers for different years, but I would suspect that headlight assemblies were mostly the same throughout. I know later models used a smaller headlight but mechanically I would think they were the same.

 

Desire to know more intensifies.

I found a wiring schematic for the C5 headlight module and compared it to a wiring schematic for my Firebird headlight module and the pinouts appear to be the same.

Following the C5 trail I found that Eckler's Corvette sells replacement modules for $165. So then I searched the Eckler's Firebird catalog and found the Firebird module by a slightly different part number. This is the first time I've seen an aftermarket source for these puppies.

 

That is good news ! I might need to grab a backup just in case.

 

Just to bring this to a close, the Corvette module does work. Installed and operating in my '89 Firebird.
