So I'm trying to get my footwell courtesy lights done in my 86, I think I've found the driver side one, but I cant find the passenger side one. Can anyone help?
My 91 Firebird didn’t come with these and I wanted to them. I used a couple of these tail light bulb sockets as their about the same shape as the notched holes in the hush panels under the dash, I used some 192 bulbs. I used a Add a fuse fuse holder to get them power. If you have a little wiring experience it’s not vet difficult, if you don’t that kit that was posted seems to be a easier way to add the lighting.
I have a 85 z28 and Im looking to add footwell lighting. where is the closest place to tap for the dome lamp switch?
The footwell lighting kit from Screaming Chicken seem like a good option.
I used a Add-A-Fuse fuse tap plugged into the ACC fuse to power the footwell lights that I added. The ACC fuse is what powers the dome light.
I used the same connectors as @91Bandit2 and some blue led from amazon (Keiurot, blue LED lights, #194). Passenger side fits in hush panel OEM hole, driver's side was a bit tricker. It was custom fit .
But for the life of me, I can't remember how I connected them. I think I hooked them up to the OEM connectors. Definitely controlled by dash switch and door switch, so it is hooked on 20A Tail Light and 5A Inst LPS, but how... can't remember!
I shoud have a light in the shifter, I can use a inline dimmer if i have to.
if you have an automatic yes you should have a light for the shifter, are you talking about using a dimmer for the shifter light or the footwell lighting?
For some reason my right green blinker light stays on when lights are on. When i put the blinker it blinks correctly.
It would be best to stay on topic, if you have an issue with your turn signal lights either start a new thread or do a search, this site has huge amounts of info on just about anything with these cars.
