hello i just bought some new led headlight for my 1990 iroc … the problem is these new ones have 3 prong and the current ones are 2 prong … how do i convert them ? which harness do i get and do i need a relay? if you can post the link to the item i need here thank you in advance
Without seeing the instructions, I'd guess those two separate leads are for the DRL/Halo.
The two headlights you'll use for the main high beam/low beam might be plug-n-play, but the H4-style connectors on newer products like this tend to be wired differently than our older cars are wired. Are there are any markings or instructions that indicate which spade is for which function, high beam, low beam and ground?
You might need a short patch-style harness that allows you to re-pin the wires to match-up between the car's sockets and the headlight's plugs. Something like this found on Amazon, but there are a lot of other similar options available. They come in pairs, so if you need them, then you'll need two pair.
For the inner pair with only two wires each, high beam and ground, do the same thing. You'll be minus the low beam wire in each socket, and they should function as high beams only, like stock.
For full functionality of those two inner headlights, to give you four high beams and four low beams, then you'd probably have to tap the low beam wire and pin it into the empty third slot in each new socket. I don't know if that's the right or safest way to do it, but it would probably work. The four LED low beams combined probably draw less power than the two halogen low beams, so it's probably safe. But best to see how/if that works safely before you drive too far out into the middle of nowhere at night.
