VATS is my last step. Please help, I know nothing

Hi there,

So I'm nearly getting this thing running.. beautiful 92 TPI. The only thing is vats because I don't have the stock ecm, but I have the original key.

I got a vats bypass module https://www.hawksmotorsports.com/gm-...-lt1-lsx-swap/ from hawks motorsports and I literally have no idea what I'm doing. I looked up the instructions but boy is this confusing.

Where do I install it? What wires are going where? I have no clue about wiring at all.

Alternatively, I watched this video:
and it seems easy with resistors. Should I just get these and make my life easier? https://www.ebay.com/itm/29596571312...Bk9SR5Skhv_sYg

Is there any other options for me?

If you don't have a stock ECM then there is no need to take steps to trick the ECM into thinking VATS is working, all you need to do is get the starter to crank, https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/elec...pass-vats.html

Are you sure it has nothing to do with VATS? The original key with the chip supposedly would not match the ecu, right?

Then again, I checked the fuel pump, and the fuel pump is working (drained gas after plugging in ecu). ALSO, the security light turns off after about two seconds while it's cranking, but not starting. Crank sounds strong, so, you really think it's not VATS? That's what I've been told it is for so long because the "chip in the key doesn't match the ECU".

Could it be spark?

So, if ya want help, , , ya gotta help people to be able to help you by providing the answer to the $64000 question;

Exactly what ECM do you have in place of the stock one?

Little details can sometimes make huge differences...................

Instructions are available here:

https://timers.shop/Documentation_ep_43.html

If finding a ground, splicing 12v power, splicing into the signal wire, and toggling the signal with the other two wires is too confusing for you, just pay somebody else for an hour of their time to get it done right.
