Help Needed!!!

Need a little bit of help here.
My son picked up a 91 Firebird, 305/5 speed.
What are the 2 switch functions on the clutch?
Also, under the console is a connector going nowhere.
Would this have been for an auto equipped car?
Looks like someone had a field day doing a rube goldberg on an alarm installation.
Right now, we're looking at a limited amount of wiring diagram to figure why the brake indicator illuminates when you hit the hatch release switch.

Thanks in advance!

Starter safety switch and cruise control deactivate

Also, under the console is a connector going nowhere.

If it has a fat yellow and fat purple, and thinner blue green orange & black wires, it would go to the shifter if the car had been automatic; and would have connected to things like the neutral starter safety switch and backup lights

Would this have been for an auto equipped car?
Yes; the harness is provisioned for both auto & manual

Looks like someone had a field day doing a rube goldberg on an alarm installation.
Biggest waste of time and money in the car universe, as well as one of the greatest destroyers of car electrical systems... GET RID OF IT and put the wiring back as close to factory as is still possible

the brake indicator illuminates when you hit the hatch release switch
Because there's an interlock such that the hatch isn't supposed to pop unless the parking brake is on
