Another Wiper Motor Wiring Request
I have 1986 IROC. So like most LS swappers, I took out the main harness and the right half of the c100 block. I got most things figured out but the wiper motor wiring. I have the connections, just need to know how to run them back through the c10 bulkhead I used the c100 diagram and it shows 3-4 wiper washer ports to wire but not all of them have power when I test the switch. Its confusing. Does anyone know how to land all 6 leads on the wiper motor to the c100? I know of the 6 one is constantpower (check) and one is ground (check) what about the remaining? Can you just tell me where on c100 they go (ie b4, c5, etc)?

Most of them, in most of the wiper systems (you don't tell us which one you have), the various parts (windings etc.) in the motor have battery on one end, and the switch grounds different leads to activate the various functions. So, consult the pictures you took before disassembly, and the notes you kept on what you did, that show where they were before, and put them back there; and don't worry too much about trying to measure them.

The system in a 1986 IROC?
So, if I catch your drift, you have nothing to offer and I should’ve taken pics and notes before pulling out the harness. I get it. Thanks for the response. I’m looking for a response from someone who knows the answer. Not a lesson in discipline.
if I had notes and pics I’d refer to those before risking this apparent humiliation from forum know-it-alls.

Delay or not? Tilt wheel or not? (not sure it makes a difference in that particular car, it does in some) And so forth.
Of course. Goes without saying. Butt as you say, it's too late now. Can't very well go back and edit mistakes out of your past.
Your best bet is probably to get a copy of the FSM, which will tell you where everything was, if you jumped in there and ... yeah ... without preparing for it.
Hopefully the know-it-alls won't bother you. It would SUCK to have somebody come on here and tell you something that isn't right.

Thanks again for responding. Appreciate the tips. Pride can be tough to swallow.
I have a hard copy and digital copy of the shop manual for both my 86 and 91. It’s actually faster to just ask online than search the pdf or index and try to read through the trouble maps. It’s mind bending stuff after a while. 😁

Not all will have power at the same time, you need the factory GM service manual on this because it has a diagnostic tree to show which wires should have power, in which function, i.e high , low, delay, that is the only way to trouble shoot this. On my harness, it was pinned one slot off, so I had all sorts of issues that made ZERO sense. Kept asking and never got replies. When I took apart the C100, using the bolt that clasps it together as my reference point I was able to see it was off.
That said, its not that difficult, because you wouldn't have touched anything on the dash side, so you can assume that's all good, only the engine bay harness side is in question. Get the service manual and start checking power following the diagnostic tree in the various modes and then tracing wires back to the circuit board. Like stated earlier, use the bolt as your reference point to keep you orientated because the pins, don't go in the same sequential order side to side, where as one side is 1,2,34, the other side is like 5,6,7. etc.

Re: Another Wiper Motor Wiring Request
So, i would get a schematic of your specific car wiper wiring. The wiper/column harness varies between options and years. 82-83 are weird, and maybe 88-89 and up are different. IDK if the tilt function changes the wiring but the harness in the column is different, as is the column connector location. The wiper-speed option is also important. I think 82-83 work on different grounds for speeds vs other years its changes in the Pos signal. I may be wrong, the schematic will tell you. From there I would either re pin your c100 or make a separate harness/connector using a generic multi wire connector like an 8 pin deutsch connector. I left my c100 harness but had a no option car and as i added/modified it made harnesses w connectors. I usually use connectors w 2-4 extra pin spots so i can add in stuff down the road if i need to. This also allows you to take stuff a part easily down the road. On my 82 I added intermittent wipers, it was one extra wire. I used the schematics to figure it all out.
the schematics will give you all the info you need.

You can pick up a copy of the Factory Shop Manual (Helms) from ebay; used ones turn up frequently for sale. There are currently several listed from $20 to $80.

Re: Another Wiper Motor Wiring Request
on the 1986 IROC, the C100 firewall ports for the wiper switch test out to be:
C7 is delay control and park
C6 is Low
C5 is High
D5 is Washer
made more sense after the advice given and followed on this forum. Thank you.

I am attempting to include a pic and a legend in case some else needs to see how the wiper motor connect through the c100 block.
