T56 is from a 97 transam with 60k miles on it
bellhousing had a crack which was repaired by a tranny shop and has been perfect for the 3000 miles I have put on the tranny since install

clutch is an Lt4 pressure plate and disk with 3000 miles on it.

flywheel is from the same transam and was resurfaced when installed 3000 miles ago.

Comes with shifter which is stock

Also comes with homebuilt conversion crossmember. This is a bit overbuilt but better safe than sorry.

Pedals are included

all hydraulics which are GM are included as well. The cheap napa or autozone hydraulic lines are plastic and can melt on headers. This is braided steel line.

shifts excellently into every gear. Still in the car.

I am very interested in your t-56 and have a 700r4 w/o 3rd & 4th, but have a few questions. Is there anything wrong with it. Also why are you wanting to swap from a 6 speed to an auto?

 

I have a Art Carr Extreme with a custom 9.5" converter with ballooning plates also from Art Carr that I would be interested in swapping for the T-56 stuff. Call me @ 281-389-6150 if interested. I am working nights, so late is OK.

i got a 700r4 that was rebuilt less than 1k miles ago. it has a couple basic upgrades like a transgo shift kit, and a hardened sunshell. nothing else much more though, mostly stock or slightly better transgo parts.

oh yea, would you want all the swap stuff? converter, trans cooler, tv cable, pedals, shift plate, shifter, etc as well?

sounds to me like you shot yourself in the foot by jumping the gun and buying other parts before you had the parts in your posession. People selling stuff are allowed to change their mind, right? Had you paid him for the parts? No? Oh...well then I guess he's allowed to change his mind.

Yes i apologize for what happened but no money exchanged hands, nothing was a done deal. i wasn't blowing smoke, i got a shipping quote back of 175 dollars. I just can't see myself parting with it right now since circumstances have changed.

 

So how was it a waste of $$? You didnt pay anything......

Did you read this thread TPI383? I bought a shifter for this t56, which I am not getting now...... I also wrote that he IS a descent guy (just indecisive) and that it was just aggravating when someone just up and changes their mind. Don't try to make this into something it's not. Hopefully this thread is done now.
