Pro Built 10" lock up 700R4/4L60 converter
Pro Built 10" lock up 700R4/4L60 converter
Approx. 5K miles, works fine - just don't need it. It is out of another board member's car. (Bernard Tripp - WS6 Vert) I bought his trans./converter as a package - already have my own converter sitting in the box. I was told it was approx. a 2900 RPM stall.

Should be a 30-spline if it also fits the 4L60. Is it a lock-up? Thanks.

Re: Pro Built 10" lock up 700R4/4L60 converter
I am very interested in this can you get anything else on this stall for me. Like part numbers or anything? Is it a Pro-built like from Dana at 700r4l60e.com?
Thanks
Jason
Thanks

I don't have any part #'s, but yes it was purchased from Dana.
I'll check the case of the converter tonight to see if it has any #'s on it, but I don't believe it does.

Re: Pro Built 10" lock up 700R4/4L60 converter
Good day!
I am the original owner of this torque converter. I purchased this converter from Dana @ ProBuilt back when he was a distributor of A.C.T. converters.
I purchased it as a 2800 converter, STR is unknown. I had an issue with the lockup feature not working, sent it back to A.C.T. for repair. They replaced the lockup clutch and re-stalled it to 2900 per me.
It has never been in a failed transmission and was 100% functional when it changed owners.
Hit me up if you have additional Q's I'll do my best to answer them.

Re: Pro Built 10" lock up 700R4/4L60 converter
Thanks For the reply. That stall is on the verge or being to much right now. Would you recommend this stall for a car that is drive on the street say a couple days a week. Did have a trans brake on this torque convertor or did you just footbrake it. If so what did it stall to when you did it this way or what did it really stall to for you?
Thanks
Jason

Re: Pro Built 10" lock up 700R4/4L60 converter
I had it my car as a daily driver. I don't know what it will go up to if you powerbrake it, stall can be relative to engine output. Its noticabley looser than stock, but once the converter locks in, stall speed is a moot point, so if you do alot of highway driving, fuel economy won't change much.

You have a new PM, BTW... found no markings on the case of the converter. Thank you Bernard for chiming in and giving the additional info.
