I am selling it because I want an automatic! manuals are fun but I am looking for consistancy at the strip.the trans was in the car when i bought it.have had the car for two years and have had no problems with the trans or the clutch.it is still in the car as we speak.the cross member also comes with the trans.

Take a Built 700R4 and converter in trade ???? Only problems is it shifts really hard through 2nd and 3rd.

Re: richmond 5 speed
what are looking at in the way of a converter if you were to trade it for a built 400, I have a nice 400 that has complete TCI internals and a bigger sprag and a buntch of internal mods its a awesome transmision, any one that has ever rode in it agrees that all 400 should be like this one, either that or they bitch about the shifts, but I just have the hughes 2400? I think converter in it. but if you were interested in a trade I would buy a better or bigger converter if you needed something big

Re: richmond 5 speed
What kind of power will that 5 speed take? If it's strong enough I'd be willing to trade. if it's only like 450 hp It won't work for me..I need one good for 600-650rwhp.
I have a pro-built street/strip TH-400 w/approx 200 street miles and 30 1/4 passes handles up to 750hp and has auto features with a TCI 3200 stall, the swap crossmember, swap driveshaft, quicksilver shifter, tranny cooler with electric fan, the big morse cable shift linkage and an sfi flexplate

Re: richmond 5 speed
Bump, thats a great deal for a great trans. If you do your research on buying those items seperately you will be looking over $4000. FYI they are rated at 450ft pounds of torque. Match your diff ratio with this trans as it has a 3.27 1st gear. Put it infront of a 3.27 9 bolt and you have a nice setup for the street. Great deal.
