Re: Misc Flywheels, Bellhousing, Trans, Carb, Dist

Wow, I have never seen anyone from Topeka on here before.

I plan to jerk out my 305 automatic and install a 350 (L-98) with a T-5 manual transmission this spring. I am still looking for a flywheel, the engine is an 1987 so it has the one piece rear seal. Do you have a flywheel for this combination? If so, what shape is it in and how much do you want for it?

Re: Misc Flywheels, Bellhousing, Trans, Carb, Dist

Am pretty sure that I do, but I'll check tomorrow to make sure. Make me a reasonable offer and its yours if I have one. I'm thinking that it was in pretty good shape. I actually live just outside of the Topeka area out around Auburn, Dover area. Do you ever go to any of the cruise nights around here? I enjoy them, but rarely ever see any other thirdgen guys out there. Now I have a new Rod to play with, my father passed last sept and I inherited his custom 1950 ford truck. So I will probably be seen in it alot more this summer than my camaro. Let me know if there are any other parts you need and shoot me a price for a good flywheel.

Hey just checked and ya I still have the flywheel for a T5 1 piece RMS. Looks to be in pretty good shape. If interested you can come check it out and I will take $60 if interested. If I remember right when I bought this I had a hell of a time finding a used one for 1pc RMS that would work in our camaro'. Again if I remember right it takes a special one I'm thinking maybe 11" which is smaller than most. I finally got this one off ebay and think I pd 100 for it. Let me know if interested.

Re: Misc Flywheels, Bellhousing, Trans, Carb, Dist

I live in Southwest Topeka and my kids went to Auburn Elementary school so I got a pretty good idea where you are at. I wouldn’t mind taking a look at the flywheel, maybe we could meet sometime next weekend? If you send me a PM with an e-mail and/or phone number we can work out arrangements to get together.

I bought this car from my son last spring and so far it isn’t anything I would be particularly proud to show-up with on cruse night. It is a decent looking car but having a teenage boy who used this car for his senior year of high school and two years of driving it back and forth to college, let just say it took its toll. Once I get the new engine and trany installed I might start thinking about cruising, it won’t look any better but at least it will sound good and can get out of it’s own way. Your truck sounds nice. When my dad went into a nursing home he left me with an old Lincoln Town Car, consider yourself lucky!

I already have a huge pile of parts to put on the car once the weather gets better, I can’t think of too much I still need. I would be interested in either an aluminum driveshaft or a 3.42 or 3.73 pos rear-end if you had one around. I would also be interested in any performance parts you might have lying around (particularly a Hurst shifter, roller rockers, suspension pieces and any TPI intake manifold stuff).

I noticed you have a 350 with a T-5. Is this still a TPI car and, if so; who burned the new chip for your car? I am an old guy and have been out of this sort of stuff for 25 – 30 years and I am little intimidated with the computer tuning. I was wondering if there is someone in this area that can do burn these and knows how to tune them for performance?

Re: Misc Flywheels, Bellhousing, Trans, Carb, Dist

Ya we can set something up if you want it. My email is Legendshooter@aol.com. I'm with ya on the new computer stuff and to answer your question....no TBI stuff here. All old school carb and HEI Dist. No unwanted sensors, vacuum lines, pollution control......just good ol barebones 350 here. Also older guy here. 2 kids one in the army and one is senior in high school. Dont really have anything laying around that you still need other than the flywheel. Dont have any performance stuff just lying around. I dont buy it if I'm not gonna use it. Thats why most everything I have is stock...because I replaced it with performance usually. Also I've owned 3 different 3rd gens and had a cpl parts cars so god knows what all I have lol. I actually live outside of Auburn. Address is considered Auburn but I'm actually 2 miles straight south of Dover. Give me a shout and let me know if you wanna take a look at the flywheel.

Re: Misc Flywheels, Bellhousing, Trans, Carb, Dist

Am probably a good 3 hrs or so from bentonville. I would think I could probably ship dist. and radiator for less than 50. Sorry but already sold the carb.
Let me know if your interested.

Re: Misc Flywheels, Bellhousing, Trans, Carb, Dist

OK...then the dist I have would not work for you. That is what I did...I done away with computer and went with HEI dist and Non cc carb. If you are going to stay with TBI and computer then the one I have will work for you otherwise you'll have to get dist elsewhere.

Re: Misc Flywheels, Bellhousing, Trans, Carb, Dist

Ya I believe it is a 2row...was in good shape when pulled. I have the blisters...I like them better but I went to a 4in cowl hood so dont need them anymore. I have the blisters listed for 150 shipped. If you want the blisters and radiator I'll do 190 shipped. Shipping on the radiator I'm guess will probably be around 30. But just a guess.
