ADS SuperChip for LG4

This is the higher performance chip available for all '86 carb'd automatic Camaros and Firebirds. It may work in other models, but you must make sure of that. It is supposedly for offroad use only, but I used it on my street car for years. It made a noticeable difference in the car's driving manners. Requires lower temp thermostat and higher octane fuel. Will also benefit from free flowing exhaust and more aggressive rods/hangers in the carb. Complete with box and instructions. Asking $40.

Dimensions: 9x12x2 1 lbs

Go to https://wwwapps.ups.com/ctc/request?loc=en_US to estimate shipping costs. Select detailed estimate and enter the item packaging dimensions specified above. This will ship from Shawnee, KS 66216.

This is still for sale. Doesn't anyone still have a computer in their carb'd car anymore?

I still have this. It really wakes up a 305.

Re: ADS SuperChip for LG4

I might be interested. What's required to install this. I have an 86 with a 305, and was going to be installing a 180 thermostat this weekend...

my car is a manual however

The last time I did this was in the mid 90s, so if I remember correctly... You just have to pull the computer down from under the passenger side dash. I think there's one bolt holding it up there. There's an access panel on the top of the computer. Open that, remove old chip, and drop this one in it's place. The instructions will show you what to do. This will work nicely with the thermostat you're getting. It made my car noticeably more responsive. If you're car is in bad shape and in desperate need of a tune up, then I'm not sure if it will help much. Also, if you have a stick, it may work and throw a code, might not work at all, or it might damage the chip and/or computer. Either way, it's not worth the risk.

I was beginning to think that no one was still running a stock setup and computer in these cars anymore!
