WTB used T-5 5 speed tranny
I am looking to buy a used T-5 transmission for my 85 trans am. The car already has a t5, but the 2nd gear synchro is going.

WC T-5
I bought a WC T-5 off another member on the boards. He claimed it was rebuilt 200 miles prior for $1,200 (though, that included the labor to drop and reinstall the tranny). He didn't have any paperwork, but seemed like an honest guy, and you can tell from the exterior of the tranny that it was at least dissambled and reassembled recently.
I picked it up becuase I thought my tranny was blown. When I dropped my tranny I found my throwout bearing was shot and my clutch was destroyed. I replaced the pilot bearing, clutch, and flywheel. I then threw my OLD tranny in for ****s and giggles, and wa-laa, no more tranny woes.
PM me if you're interested....I'm thinking about keeping it and putting it in as it feels like it shifts smoother than my tranny (off the car atleast), and it's a stronger WC unit (mine is non-wc), but for the right price, I could use the extra garage space.
Oh yeah, I'm in CT too.
