9 bolt axle housing

Ok... so I have a rear end out of an 89 formula 350.. only problem is the axle housing is bent. I was hoping someone out there would have a 9 bolt axle housing by itself that can be shipped because that's all I need. Hopefully someone has sold the gears and posi off of one and it's just laying around.
Thanks

Re: 9 bolt axle housing

As a matter of fact, I do have an empty 9 bolt housing...well, the axles are still in it, but I can pull them out, since I already sold the gears and posi.

Where are you located? Shipping via UPS would be do-able, and I've shipped heavier items with them before, but they aren't cheap on the heavy stuff.

I live in the Monroe area of Louisiana. If the shipping is not much different, you can leave the axles in. It would save time, for both of us. Just let me know the price and shipping, and please be reasonable.

Re: 9 bolt axle housing

lol, I know what you mean about being reasonable. Let me try and get an idea of what this thing weighs and what kind of box I can find to ship it in. Because of the distance, even if I don't ask much for the rear itself, the shipping might make it unappealing to you. I need to clear some cash on it for myself, you know?

Re: 9 bolt axle housing

Shipping this thing might not work out...even empty, it has some serious weight to it. The size and weight of the box is giving me some scary figures from UPS.

According to my trusty old bathroom scale, the bare rear plus a box would weigh about 90lbs. The cheapest UPS ground rate would cost $71. So, for it to be worth my while and get a few bucks from the part and my labor in boxing it up, your otal would be like $120. That's pricey for a bare housing, even a rarer 9 bolt, isn't it?

Re: 9 bolt axle housing

I agree.. It is, but it's the only offer I have that is even remotely reasonable.. People have been wanting $100 plus shipping which is straight up rediculous. Anyway let me know about payment details.

Re: 9 bolt axle housing

I have an empty 9 Bolt rear housing and I am in Pa. Don't know if that helps or not. Bhal8554@Comcast.Net I use fed ex and they are cheaper more often than UPS.
