Re: 86-89 2.8 v6
I really dont know how much it would cost to ship them, I'm in San Angelo Texas, 76903. I know I spent almost $300 on having the heads reconditioned but I am open to offers (I know noone would give me what I spent on them). instead of messaging on here, E-mail me at prosthetics11@hotmail.com

Re: 86-89 2.8 v6
i have a good complete motor and tranny, the motor runs but has a knock, the tranny is a fresh rebuilt stage 1 with a 2200 rpm stall, car was a totally different animal with the worked tranny, tranny only has 10k max on it, pulled for v8 swap

yeah its got it all ,id give u the block heheh, but for the accessories id want money, and for the tranny. you want it all? throw me 500 and come get it or hook up a freight truck, i have pallets and an engine hoist here, i paid 850 for the tranny and only put 8k or so on it., if u just want the whole motor 200, need at least 3 for that tranny

Re: 86-89 2.8 v6
I'm putting my 305 tpi up for sale with everything else you need to do the swap....
I'm doing an LT1 swap.
My 305 runs really strong....recently rebuilt by previous owner's mechanic.
It will include:
complete, assembled engine
intake (snorkel and tpi intake)
maf sensor
injectors
ECM
Wiring harness
tranny
headers and y pipe
whatever else you might need
let me know

Yes, I'm in Wyoming. I did a MapQuest from Casper to Knoxville (I don't know what city you live in), so I guessed a city. It's 1553 miles from Casper to Knoxville.
My engine is in great shape and runs strong daily. I use it to get to work and back every day, and I've never had a problem with it. The tranny just needs a valve body swapped in, which you can find for around $40.
I'm putting it on Craigslist and advertising it locally, but I'd sell it to you and ship it to you, to help you out, if you really want it.
I could ship the engine and tranny and everything else to you, or you could pick it up (we could meet half way or something). The gas money to get half way and back might be 2/3 the shipping cost. It's up to you, how you would want to acquire the engine.
The price is for everything-engine-ECM-wiring-complete tpi intake-maf sensor-snorkel intake-filters-Accel SuperCoil-injectors-plugs-plug wires-distributor-tv cable-throttle cable-and tranny (it has a shift kit and just needs a new valve body-$40-just swap the shift kit into the new valve body and voila). The tranny shifts great manually (I've gotten really good at this-he he) but in Drive it doesn't kick down when you stomp the gas. The only problem I've had with my setup is the tranny not kicking down into low gear when I stomp the gas--it's the valve body. The tranny has a Transgo shift kit in it, with a new governor gear and springs. A constant pressure valve body would be a great swap--then the only thing your tv cable will do is adjust your shift points, and you don't have to worry about fluid pressure issues in your tranny. Anyway, just food for thought.
You may want my Hedman shorties and Y-pipe, too (I'm going larger tube headers for my LT1). That'd be another $150 for all three pieces, which is a good deal for headers and a y-pipe.
I would do a V-8 if I were you, and the 305 is a good engine. Mine runs strong. It's not a 350, but it's a good engine to start learning the small block Chevy, and you can cam it and port the heads and tweak the PROMS (ECM) and get another 70 to 100 or more horsepower out of it, depending on what all you want to do. Basically, you'll be getting way more power than a 3.4 liter, but it would probably cost you a little more than it would cost you to do a v-6 swap, but I think it's worth it. You could easily get the 305 up into the 250-275 fw horsepower range...possibly even above 300 fwhp, at your elevation, with just some head porting/milling/valve job/valve springs and a cam swap, with some PROM burning.
One guy on these forums built a 356 horsepower 305, using Vortec heads and a pretty mild duration camshaft.
The cool thing is that you can swap over top end parts (cam, heads, tpi intake, etc.) to a 350, if you ever decide to go the 350 route.
I've been on these forums for 2 1/2 years, and I have never been scammed....if someone does run some scam on here (I've never seen one), they are reported and banned. Heck I think they ban guys for being rude, too, so it's pretty strict here, but not too strict so as to limit fun.
I am not here to scam people. I love Third Gen Camaros, and this is a great site for information about these cars, and it's a great place to sell parts or entire cars.

Re: 86-89 2.8 v6
OK, I have to check out a few things I got going.I'm suposed to start a new house fo a guy in about three weeks.plus got some other jobs to do. The weather has been real bad this week and last.LOTS of rain and stuff like that.I would like to put a v8 in my 86.got a 90 bird with a 3.1 in it that I may do a swap in latter. Its only got an injector issue.Got it from a guy that hardly dove it for 5 years.only 119xxx on it.It will run.So I'm going after the 86 that dosn't have an engine in it at all first.I like the 3rd gen site.I'm learning alot.

Re: 86-89 2.8 v6
OK,lets try this.I could use an 85-89 2.8 or a 93-95 3.4.if I get the 2.8 I'd like to get as much as I can with it.Intake and so on.If I get the 3.4 the block and heads starter stuff like that but I will have to use my old intake and fuel rails.that dosn't nean I wouldn't take them. It's not a big deal if there gone.
