3.42 posi rear
I am looking for a 3.42 posi rear for my TA, 1989. I dont know much about changing the gears in the rear but was told that it can be difficult. Otherwise I would do it myself

Re: 3.42 posi rear
I have a 3.42 out of a 98 LS1 car. I want to keep the rear and brakes so I could get you the gears and zextel posi for 195 shipped to your door. Will include all guts of the rear except axles since they are longer on 4th gen cars.
You can order a video and install kit from summit or look on youtube probably and install it yourself. You just need to make sure the contact patch of the gears are correct.
A shop should not charge too much if you rather leave it to someone who has done it more than once.

Re: 3.42 posi rear
I think that sounds good. I have to check and see about the axle stuff I kinda was looking at puttin wider on my car but I can add that later. I will find the brakes since I will add the bigger brakes. I suppose doing it all the same time makes better sense so I think I will do that. How does it ship and how much does it weigh? I have a mechanic that works with my parents business that is good and has a lift and garage. But tell me a bit more about it and the brand. Thanks, Robert

Zextel is the brand that came in the LS1 cars. Do a google for info. My price includes shipping, but it should weigh about 75lbs. Let me know if you are serious and timeframe and I'll pull the gears and get you some photos.
