how big is too big

what is the biggest deck height for a 3rd gen with a stock hood (maybe 1 inch more from new hood) and also, has any one had any experience with the KB600 block? while using a throttle body not a carb

lot of your clearance issues will depend on the intake and air cleaner, or if it's tpi or carbed. my wife says there is no such thing as too big.

i was think of having a thottle body with a dart intake, but i have also heard alot about the holley stealth ram. I heard the stealth ram is better, but do you know if there is any issues with the product like emissions, heat or HP etc.?

"Deck height" - I assumed you were talking big block.

Emissions? You don't use that word and "big block" in the same sentence. Or "Dart intake" or "Stealth Ram", for that matter.

A Lot of variables...

A short deck block with a Team G manifold and dominator just clears a stock flat hood. (cut some of the ribbing underneath the steel hood). No tall deck motor with a decent manifold is going to fit under a stock hood. My current Donovan D500 block (10.3 Deck height) with a big duke manifold and a dominator does not fit under a 4" cowl hood even with the motor dropped 1" below stock. A big lexan scoop now sits on top of the cowl. It ain't pretty but it works.

A tall deck block is great for getting more cubic inches but I don't think it will fit well in a non tube chassis car. All the aftermarket swap headers are designed for a standard deck height.

You can go easily to 540 cid with a standard deck aftermarket block.

the block that i was originaly looking at was the 572 cu.in. type that jon moss put in that camaro but some people told me that a better choice would be a keith black and said that KB has better design for their blocks, what do you think about the 572
and also is that you video on nescaracing.com with the white firebird doing 7.8 if it is thats crazy man, it like shifted in second and was still had the front tires off the ground , man i'm freakin out thats the best thing i've seen in a while
