should i swap tpi or repair burnt tbi?

okay here is the deal... i have money and am ready to start buying parts soon... i have a burnt tbi my whole passenger side is burnt so i would need new wire harness i dont want a/c or heater what hoses that come off the radiator would i need to keep?? or can i plug it on the radiator and get rid of all the hoses except the one in the back of the intake manifold or can i plug that one too?
i think it was my stereo wire that shorted out and started the fire but it could've been a faulty injector or an exploded battery... i have had a fire before that started in the intake i guess.. but my battery was brand new this time... when i came out to see my car in smoke the heater was going and wouldnt turn off i think the flames just melted the relay or something and turned it on but i dont want it anymore.. my injectors are fried so i would need a new injector pod(hint hint) if i stay tbi with injectors one is real bad...
another question, are there many vacumn lines on the passenger side?the vacumn canister is fine.. my driver side of the car is in perfect shape no problems at all big difference between the 2 sides..
the big question is with all i have to do to repair tbi should i just fix it or go with tpi... oh yeah my tbi harness is only burnt in the engine compartment not all the way either...just about to wear the heater is...
thanks for all the help guys... i have to get this thing fixed my girlfriend's parents are keeping it in there garage right now thanks to them.. but i cant keep it there..

You are probably ahead to do an LT1 drivetrain swap instead of repairing your TBI. Replacing that wiring is alot of work to still be down 100hp from the LT1. Then if you want to do some mods later you will have a better base starting point. You can get LT1 engine and transmission on Ebay for $1200 -$1600.

I don't know why the post was moved either. I think the moderators must be a little move happy.

If you don't want to do a motor swap then your ahead to go back TBI. The TPI system only really made more hp from the factory because it had better heads, cam and exhaust from the factory. And the hp difference wasn't that much. There is nearly as much work involved in rewiring your car for TPI as LT1 that is why I suggested just going LT1. If you are just wanting your car to run again then TBI is going to be the cheapest easiest route. Almost all of the TBI's engine wiring comes up in one bundle from the passender side fender and isn't that bad to remove and replace. I have bought 350 throttle bodies of ebay for less than $50 with injectors. I had to pay twice that at the cheapest junkyard I could find. You might as well get the 350 injectors while your replacing stuff that way you don't have to upgrade them later as you change those heads, cam and exhaust.

somebody made only the switch from TBI to TPI and gained something like 15 hp and 43 foot pounds of torque

Why was it moved? Well you arent allowed to talk about replacing TBI on that board with anything, unless its TBI you are replacing it with. Theres only 3 moderators, email them and complain.
