If you don't have the stand yet, here's a suggestion: Spend the extra few bucks and get a 4-wheel type. The lower cost of the tricycle kind can't be justified with the reduced stability. Don't know how many times I've just about tipped mine over, doing little things like tightening a bolt.

I've got the 4 wheel type.
It was kinda funky trying to bolt the motor to it, it has these strange "V" brackets that you have to orientate to meet up with the tranny holes on the motor.
Here is a pic,

well damn if your stand has 4 wheels already you may as well avoid the aggravation and drive that til the block comes through

First off the 4 wheel engine stand is the best. And second, no offense but Zepher I think it might be time to clean the garage. I can't work if there is more than one part on the bench or more than 3 wrenches laying on the floor, but maybe I'm just a neat freak.
Later, Garrett

Yeah that's a little too cluttered for me. My garage is fairly large (2 car, 2 story garage, seperate from the house, with a big work bench and lots of room to work on stuff) and it's not really cluttered, everything is stored on shelves or at least off to the side, and organized. Power tools with power tools, cleaners with cleaners. Yard stuff with yard stuff. Etc. etc. The upstairs has a big old contractor's work bench that's perfect for doing work that's not very messy.

That is clean, you should see it now.

I was going to clean up today, but got tied up with other activities.

Oh, and I hate to work when there is so much clutter, maybe that is why I haven't worked on the car in awhile.
