L98 questions
Im putting a l98 with 305 heads that have been ported, it will be a straight drive car, with 3.42 rear, daily driven, its a roller block, what kind of cam should i run, and also i want it to have a little rough idle, i dont want smooth idle, and it will also see use at the strip ocassionally, and it will get full length headers and duals in about another month, thanks

if you have an l98 why put the 305 heads on there? thats just gonna hinder performance. just mill the l98 heads to boost your compression and port those. which is already 9.5:1 so u dont want it to high or your not gonna last too long.

your better off jus milling 350 heads to a smaller combustion chamber to raise your compression ratio. and spend the money for porting and polishing some 350 heads which will outflow the 305 heads and accept the bigger valves and what not without shrouding the valves and what not.

and you can get some 350 heads out of the junkyard for cheap.
i have 2 sets of heads myself that im trying to get rid of. set of 462624 casting and a set of L98s. theres plenty of stock heads out there for cheap. i just saw a pair of camel hump heads go for 25 bucks on ebay. you just have to look.
