just wonderin.. why do you want to swap in a L98 from a vette if you have an L98 in there already? If its L98 to L98 all the sensors would be the same and itd be straight foward but whats wrong with yours? lol

if the heads are all your lookin for, then if i were you id just get some used vette aluminum heads on ebay or something and clean em up, or buy rebuilt aluminum heads somewhere, and put em on what you have... then youll have money left to put into a bigger cam and the TPI to get that car up to par, as opposed to swapping in another L98 just for the gain in heads, somethin to think about. its all your choice though, good luckwith whatever you choose!

In his first post he said it was remanufactured. Since he didn't tell us, maybe his L98 is tired...

So do you mean you are going carbed? If so the Comp cams XE268 may be something to think about. It should work well with a slight stall. What rear gears do you have?

Get some better tires and get a N2O kit and I am sure you will be happier with the speed.

1. You wont blow up your engine if you install the kit correctly. They wouldnt be in business if all engines blew up with N2O.
2. 89s are tad stronger than 87s, a tad.
3. My car has 60k miles and has been babied for all 60k of them.
4. I dont know all of the mods that I might have. For all I know I could have a nice cam in there.

I dont know about the maf cars but the specs I have seen on the 91 and 92 cars list them as being supposed to run low 14's stock. You also have to remember that these cars were not all manufactured to very exact tolerances so some cars seem a lot faster than others. The tire and those 60 fts should help you out a bit. What rear end gear do you have. Do you know your altitude?

So you dont have headers and you have 2.5 inch exhaust. If you change the exhaust and get a high flow cat or put a pipe through one instead of being gutted it should help you out a lot. Most of your mods arent stuff that will help you much speed wise. Some cars had those gears stock, but they are decent. Does it still spin both tires or is the posi worn out? Ported plenum can help a little, pulleys people usually dont gain much, the fan switch and thermostat wont do much, timing can help a little, 2.5 inch exhaust(a lot of 350's had 2.75 stock) need something bigger, fuel pump wont do much, air pump removed wont do much, removed some weight(100 lbs equals about 1/10th, shocks and struts wont do much and shift kit may help a little also. It looks like you have a decdent setup, but you are choking it with that exhaust, and if you get new rear tires that should definately help, especially since they say every tenth you gain in your launch should be 2 on your quarter. Tires and exhuast should see you a good improvement. Maybe some rear suspension upgrades.

how do you launch? I hard launched before and only mustered between 14.9-15.1, but I did free mods and learned not to really punch it until about 2200 rpm and pulled a 14.6! if you're tires are balding and you hammer it from a dead stop, you are going to spin for quite a while. I've got 108xxx miles on my engine and it runs as if it were brand new
