What should I add?

Ok, I have a Factory 300hp 327 from a 68' Bel-Air Wagon. I have 2.02 Double Hump heads ported and polished with screw in stud guides etc. I also have a Edelbrock intake and a 700 Holley. What else should I do to this motor before I swap it in this summer...I want a stout yet dependable motor... I have seen some cams but not sure if I really want a huge cam in a 327 because of its wider rev range. Any suggestions would be appreciated...

Megashifter and a supercharger never hurt anything...'cept for some tires (stole that from another site).

But keep it mild till you swap her...and if you feel something is lacking, then you can change cams and whatnot later. That's what I'm doing with the next engine for my Camaro.

That part sounds suspecious. Especially since all post-'67 327's in full-size passenger cars were 2bbls.

Even if it is a 300HP 327, upgrade the cam. Today's performance grinds are head & shoulders above any '60's factory technology. You can have more low-end torque and more high-end power with a modern profile.

Exhaust - you've got to let that poor thing breathe.

I know exhaust, I am getting 1 5/8 shorties headers a 3 inch with Dynomax bullet muffler and custom made rear y-pipe to split it to duals in the back.

This car was special oredered and has 68,000 original miles. It also had bucket seats and a factory tach

You do realize that the rev range is dependant on the cam, don't you? It's not going to be an effective high revver with a tiny cam.

I realize the rev range different. But I also realize due to the shorter stroke 327s can rev a little bit higher. And since they are not stoker motors like a 383, they make they're power higher in the rev range...

I would put a different cam in it. I would go roller cam and full roller rockers as well. Add some titanium valvetrain parts and you might squeeze a little more rev out it to. Are you planning to rebuild it? I would!! Even though it has only 68K on the clock, it does have 35 years on it!! Better safe than sorry, right.

You know what might look cool. After you do the swap, get a couple of those fender badges that say "327" for the car!?

yeah I was thinking of the badges...I was thinkin taking off all the Z28 Emblems and putting 327 SS ones...to be different. As far as the motor I am not sure If I want full rebuild or top end. I am working plus school and I want to get it done by June...
