305 and 350 starter

anyone whos had the swap long enough for their starter to crap out, have you replaced it with one for a 305 or 350 the parts store said their different, and when i went to hook up the 350 one the wiring was really awkward and didnt fit...maybe (hopefully) it was just the brand, anyone have anything on this???

I never noticed any difference in wiring. Can you be more specific?

Test it, all you need is the ground positive from the battery to the main post and a lead to the starter module post. not to big of a deal

Just use the same starter theat the car came with. All that matters is if you have the same size flywheel. I went from a 305 to 350 and I'm still using the same starter. I never knew there was a difference except with153 tooth or 167 tooth flywheels.

not to be a smarta$$...

well, if you don't want to do any work, and don't want to pay anybody else to do any work, all i can suggest is to find a wand, magic preferrably, wave it over your starter, chant "oogabooga! oogabooga!" and it should magically fix itself...

not for nothin dude but you did ask for some help...and if its to much bullsh!t to deal with right now, then why come and ask?
like said above.. its really not a big deal...
the starters are the same...it is possible that they gave you the wrong year maybe..but theres no difference between a 305 and 350 starter...only flywheels...

im using my "305" stuff on a LT1 motor..

the only difference is the nose of the starters, i have 2 one that came with my 305 and one that came with my 350 but you do need a specefic size flywheel as well to fit it.
