88 Irocz 305 Tpi

I'm looking for some advice. I currently own a 1988 Chevy Iroc-Z convertible with a 305 TPI. However the motor is on its last leg due to the following mods: 100 NOS, Paxton Supercharger and all the available bolt on mods without having to remove the heads from the 52mm Throttle Body to the Flowmaster Exhaust. The car still runs strong in the 1/4 averaging times around 12.8's squeezing into second gear without slicks. Although one major problem is when the car is parked for at least a couple of hours when I return and start it up it blows white smoke. I'm not quite sure what the problem is. But it doesn't appear to burn oil. I'm interested in replacing the motor with a 350HO. Unfortunately due to my recent layoff from my job my budget is tight. I originally wanted a ZZ4 or LT1. What would you recommend. All feedback is welcome. Thanks in advance. Also if anyone is located in the Southern California and is willing to help (willing to pay) please let me know.

It's not a blown head gasket... It still runs strong. Smokes at start up (about a second or two) only after sitting for a a while.

could be tranny fluid, I know of a guy that's having that problem with a truck. That's what my step dad said though.

How difficult would it be to replace the valve seals. Would it be beneficial to replace the heads?

Not necessary to replace the Heads for the installation of Valve seals. Depends on your mechanical skills to replace them and it may not be your DIY type of job.

If you've never done it before, it'll probably take about a month to do it so if you work I hope you have another car.
