Looks like it would be a great option. About the only difference I see would be the 4bolt (good difference) and that a 1985 and prior engine (2 peice rear main). You may also have some problems with the accesories from your car bolting up with those heads.
All these things are rather minor, Looks like a good option to me.

I think you should go with a goodwrench engine. They have better warranties and there new. Plus the price for that one is with exchange I don't think they would take your 305 for the exchange.

Seems pretty mild to me. The cam has a lot of duration but not much lift - TPI probably wouldn't like it much. The heads are probably 64cc, but they don't say exactly what they are (I doubt there would be a problem mounting accessories, though). It'll be '86-prior, so your TPI base won't bolt directly to it (elongate the center bolt holes).
They say 275 HP with high performance intake and 650 CFM carb (you can probably figure headers, too). Mount TPI on it and you can knock about 30 HP off. That's a gross rating, though, so knock off another 25 for net. Now you're down to 225 (maybe), LB9's would put out 190-215 apples-to-apples HP.
Frankly, your money would be better spent upgrading your 305.

What about this engine

Some people on the boards have this one and have been happy with it. It's a little more $$ but I think it would be a better choice.

i want to get to the mid 13s and that head and cam isnt going to do it. i will still have to upgrade. i might just stick with my LB9 and buy a new set of heads cam and exhaust. i hear the bottom end is pretty strong in the LB9s so i am thinking i might keep it.

Hehe, I have a higher lift cam in my 305 than in that 350 listed at the top. That thing would get you into the mid to high 14's I would think, straight out of the box anyway.
