173 to 350 what do i need to change?
i have a 173 in my 1989 RS camaro and i want to put a 350 sbc in it and i need to wonder what i need to change on the body or anything like that, bcuz ive been told i have needed to change my front springs or some more stuff but i dunno what i need to do, but i also want to kno how much of the electrical i need to change, and also plzz help me with finding a place to get a camaro 350 with all the eletrical that isnt blown up or nething that will just go into my car and bolt strait onto my transmition which is the 700 or osmethign liek that thnx, but if u dnt want to help me thnx for looking
well to start out with, you need to change out the whole front suspension with a small block suspension. This means the springs, struts, sway bars, and the spindles I think. Also the electrical is pretty easy. All you need is the engine wiring harness, motor, ECU and you prolly will want a 115MPH or a 145MPH guage cluster. As for it bolting up to the 700R4 you have, it won't work. You have to get a small block 700R4. The bellhousings are different and so is the strength of the innards.
