Will a t5 transmission hold up to a 350 SBC?

I'm planning on putting a T5 trans in my camaro with a 350. Nothing special, just a lower HP engine, nothing insane. Everyone seems to think it will be fine but then some kids telling me that t5's wont withstand anymore than a 305. This kid is known for being a retard... however is there any truth to this? Thanks in advance.

It will hold up with what you have unless you drive the car like a retard.

i have seen a t5 blow up behind a 305, and i have also seen and heard of people running mid 12's with them.

Its all about how you drive the car.

My t5 has lasted very nicely behind my 350, even with slicks, however i dont expect it to last forever.

my WC t-5 is holding up ok so far behind 430hp and 406ftlbs

however, i did pop a BW t-5 behind my 305, and i rarely even beat on that car

It seems to be hit or miss. I've blown up a NWC behind my stock 305, but I never really beat on it. If you do use one though, I would reccomend a WC T5. That's what I have in my car now.

A friend of mine swapped a 4.3 v6 into an 88 blazer with a t-5 behind it. He had 295/50/15's on the back and two people in the back, first powershift and the T-5 **** the bed. Swapped it out and put a muncie 4 speed in it, next thing to go was the 7.5" 10 bolt.
