Hmm, sound like ur car was a piece of crap... The fuel pump cutting out has nothing to do with a conversion, unless u chinced out on the regulator... The car rubbing on the ground makes no sense unless you had low a$$ ground effects... And lastly, u gave answers to a question i didnt even ask. I know plenty of people who have done this, and I'm full aware of the simple problems (IE headers and motor mounts) All I wanted to know was simply what ENGINE ACCESSORIES I could use and which I couldn't. Not if the cars going to drag on the ground. Obviously the motor mounts need to be changed... You can't add a totally different engine and keep the same ones.

And No the front bumper wont touch the ground if you dont swap out the springs on a v-6 to v-8 swap

Bouncy wouldn't be a problem. However, there is around 200 lbs difference between a v6 and a v8. Bottoming out the suspension might be a problem (ie, you go over a pot hole and the control arms hit the bump stop
). If the springs are old, this would especially be a problem. Besides, it's always a good idea to change the springs when doing an engine swap. More than likely, they need to be replaced anyway.

my suspension only has 56K on it. struts are brand spankin new. I know taking out the front springs could be a dangerous job if you don't have the right tools, i was afraid for my boyfriend and his friends working on it and getting hurt. After i get the car running, i'll see how it rides. If it's really bad, there's place not too far from that specializes in front end suspension work and i'll let them deal with it.

I havent had ant real problems with bottoming out....sraight ahead I notice no problems. On a sharp fast corner it seems a bit loose.....
A lot of guys switch out the springs when they change the motor mounts..It is suggested....I didnt do it..here is a pic with the 6 in it...the only pics I have with the v6 are with low profile 50's . The car actually sat a couple of inches lower with these tires..

here is the v8 again,,notice the space above the tire bellow the fender,,,,still about the same as the v-6 if you allow for tire height...

Thanks for your input riley. i can deal with the car feeling a little loose. As far as a height difference with the cars stance from v6-v8, i haven't noticed a difference yet. it's been sitting for about month now, maybe when i get everything settled and start driving the front end might settle down more.
