4.6 northstar

I have never heard of anyone swapping this motor into a 3rd gen but personally i think that it would be bad ***...its got decent power 320 hp 315/tq...thats pretty good especially for a small motor like that and its DOHC. so how hard would it be to actually swap one into our car. just take like a rear wheel drive one from the new SUV or XLR. the XLR has a weird 5 speed hydromatic tranny and it still runs 0-60 in 5.9 seconds. would it be too hard to be worth it

not sure about how hard it would be ???

i wonder if it has the same bellhousing as a chevy small block if not youll have to use that tranny and your definatley gonna have to use the wiring and computer from what ever you take the engine out of ...and i bet the list goes on but i agree it would be an awsome swap if any one has the cash to do it id be interested in seeing some pics of it for sure

the northstar uses the same bellhouising as the 2.8L V6, so, get a 2.8 700R4 and swap V8 700R4 guts into the V6 case

i made the same suggestion about a year ago.....and ide love to see a 4.6 northstar in a camaro. but in reality its probably more of a PITA then it would be worth considering the electrical hassle that would go along with the swap. not to mention the fact that the ls1 makes more power and has more cubes and it helps that the presedant has already been set.

Do a search. I posted a link that featured a 4th gen with a northstar.
