Which oil pan do I need?
I've got a truck block....I believe it is a late 70's early 80's 350 block. The stock pan is leaking (I'm guessing its warped) and I want to replace it.
Driver side dipstick...the block/pan has a bump on the driver side for the dipstick. Which kind of pan is that? Are there more then 1 driver side versions of oil pans?
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...t=SUM%2DG3500P - Is that what I need? Should I be worried about multiple variations in dipstick locations?

There are dozens of variants.
The one that I like to use is this one, with a windage tray; the Moroso tray with the Teflon coating is real easy to install along with it. Use the replacement part #.

Hmm....I don't really need any more then 5 quarts. Would the pan I linked worked? Any driver side dipstick 2 piece seal pan it should fit right?

yep...had to add this also- Invest in the one peice Fel-Pro oil pan gasket with the thick front. They made 2 different styles of gaskets for the real early blocks which use the thinner front gasket that seals to the bottom of the timing chain. You need the thick version. Money well spend and say good bye to pan leaks!! Definatley worth the $34.

Yes it should work.
"Any" pan may not however; like I said, there's ALOT of variants, and even though all of them will bolt to any block with the same dipstick location, they may or may not fit in whatever chassis you're trying to put it in.
I'd expect the Summit one to work, as the A/G chassis and F chassis (the ones most of their customers would be likely to be buying it for) are the tightest to fit.

Yes, I think the one you linked will work. I'm running the same on my 400 with no problems.
