Running 12s
Here's the deal. I've got an LG4 700R4 Camaro. I just bought the car for $1000cdn, and I bought a complete new exhaust: flowtech shorty headers and y-pipe, no cat, dynomax cat back. Here is my plan:
-Edelbrock performer intake(not RPM)
-Summit cam .442/.465lift 214/224 duration at .050
-Plate nitrous kit - 100 shot
-3.42 gears
-BFG drag radials
Do you think I could sneak into the 12s? This will be my daily driver, but I dont care if the poor 305 grenades from too much spray. I do mention its my driver because I like the way the tranny drives and shifts now, and I dont want any more gear (than 3.42) for highway cruising purposes.
Any input/suggestions/changes would be appreciated.

12's would be a little of a stretch. If your suspension and tires are working really well and you hook up great, you might be able to do it with more spray. If your car is at full stock weight you need around 400 hp at the flywheel to run a 12 ( 12.9 not 12.0). You are going to need more nitrous. But I doubt your stock 305 would handle that much. Even if it is low miles and in great condition it wouldn't handle a 200 shot very long.

12.99 is cool
Anything else I could do besides more spray?
I used to have a stock 4th gen LS1 that ran 13.4 @ 105 on a cool day. But that was with little hook up and stock goodyears(boo hiss). I figure with some drag radials I could have done 12.99s.
Thats why I was thinking that with the above mentioned combo (on a cool day best run scenario) 12.99 or so. Just so long as the # before the "." is a "12".

You'd need more than just drag radials to drop half a second. I think you're going to need a bigger cam and at least some mildly ported heads if you don't want to do it with more nitrous.

I had an LG4 with headers, exhaust, intake, some ignition work, posi with 3.73 and i think it ran around low 14's. I never did run it at the track but that little 305 surprised a lot of cars. But now i got a 383 dropped in.
I would run the following.
- Edelbrock or Weiand Intake
- 416 cast heads, cut for 1.94 intake with port polish
- CompCams XE268H (K12-242-2 kit)
- posi if you don't have it.
- Carb tweaks (DR rods, B-Hangar)
- L69 Dual Snorkle housing or make one, or open element. (K&N)
with your exhaust you should hit some pretty good number and with a 100 or 150 shot be very close to what your looking for depending on traction.

Thanks very much for the ideas guys,
anyone else have some ideas?
I have 3.55 gears in the car already, apparently. I don't know what make or anything, but I plunked my rpm/speed/tire height (which are all fairly accurate) into a gear calculator, and thats what it spit out. Does anyone know of a cheap posi unit for a 10 bolt that I wouldn't have to change my rear gear?
