oil pans
Guys I will be going to the machine shop with my 400sbc very soon. A friend of mine sold me a older chevy orange oil pan so I am assuming it came from the 70's and has the drivers side dipstick provision. With this oil pan will there be any problems bolting onto the 400? What about any clearance issues with the chassis, longer stroke or dipsitck tube?
Thanks, for any help.

Most likely the pan will be fine. However, there are a lot of different "older" SBC pans out there (some painted orange, some painted other colors), so about the only way to know if it's going to work it to try to fit it up.
