LT1 vs. L98

I know this has probably been posted a go-zillion times, but what's better about a LT1 vs. a L98 350? Also, how much better is a f-body LT1 vs. an Impala/9C4 LT1 350? I keep getting ever-so close to buying a motor, and right abou the time I make up my mind...WHAM! It gets sold 'cause I pro-freaking-crastinated too long. Any help would be MONDOID appreciated. PREEEASH!

The LT1 is easier to work on, its lighter, it responds to mods better, it rev's higher, it has much more of a torque curve, uhhh... the L98 will plug right in, i suppose thats a benefit.

Im sure you'll see plenty of retards around here proclaim "torque wins on the street and the L98 makes more torque so it will win" and that they've beat 4th gens with only a few mods. These people lack the ability to think, and research, the LT1 does make a slightly lower peak torque, though outside of that very narrow window where the L98 PEAKS higher, it makes more torque across the board, the only reason some are able to get close to LT1 4th gens with their mild modded L98's is the 4th gen weighs more, and drivers are a bit of a variable.

L98 is a good motor, but the injectors are batch fired instead of sequential fired, the 93 and 94 LT1 are batch fired as well and went to sequential in '95. There are guys in the group I am in that state they got 27-28 MPG with their LT1 with the T56 in stock trim and only dropping like 4-5 mpg when heavily modded. The LT1 PCM's can be programmed instead of having to use a chip to enhance performance.

94 was sequential. 92 and 93 are Batch and MAP only, 94 up are SEFI map + maf.

they are both pretty good motors however the lt1 advantages are outweight that of the l98 and for about the same price you might as well get the lt1. i have had both and i can say from my expeirence the lt1 feels and runs better more powerful and more reliable.

Stick with the LT1. The potential from the heads and intake alone is almost unlimited. That is why you do not see any aftermarket substitues. With TPI you have to junk the stock heads and intake to make serious power. So in essence you start off with less potential.
