86 LG4 t0 290hp crate swap
i ordered my crate engine ( http://www.gmpartsdepot.com/store/pr...Category_ID=63 ) . and im gunna use my intake from the LG$ and the rest of the other stuff. i just want to know if there is anything else i should plan on buying with this or any problems i would have swapping. and is it possible to pass emissions with the new setup ( will have all stock smog stuff). this engine will be mostly for daily driving but with a little bit of umph for fun. thanx

Flexplate. The crate is a 2-piece rearmain seal.
Then to get rid of those LG4 performance-reducing items: Air cleaner, exhaust from heads to rear bumper.
That should do it.

Mine's got 168k miles on it. I've had it since 123k, no clue if it was touched b/4 that. The "upgrades" occurred at 141k, I've beat on the thing regularly. Only glitch is the 2-3 shift doesn't do it at WOT, but it hasn't "failed".

Shouldn't be a problem with the sniffer. I assume they don't open the hood.
Oh, about the TH700 - Did I mention my '84 full size van, originally LG4 A4, now Goodwrench 350 same A4, which has been used to pull a 2-horse trailer weekly since late 1996 (tare weight ~7500 lbs), and pulled the '57 on a trailer to Topeka & back last September, and our '90 Bonneville on a trailer from Hays, KS last January, currently with 147k miles on it, without a hiccup?
No?
Well, we have this '84 full size van, with a Goodwrench 350 that was put in at 71k miles with the original TH700R-4 A4 transmission, that we have used to pull a 2-horse trailer weekly since late 1996...
