finally bought a ....

I finally bought an engine block for my camaro. It will be an expensive build up but it will be fun. I bought the motown lite block. The block is a 350 with a 4.00 stroke and 4.125 bore. I will be making this a 427 small block. Need advice though on a cam for this engine. What kind of cam should i run? by the way it is emissions legal besides it being a 2piece seal. So far I have a Super ram intake and headers. I am sure it will be an on going project. I will post pics as soon at arrives. Should be about a week.

a 4.125" bore is a 400 block. but since it's an aftermarket block, i am assuming it has 350 mains? is this what you mean by a 350 block? sounds like it'll be pretty stout. sorry, don't have any suggestions for cam or heads.

Does this have to pass smog? Is this a street car or a street strip or what?

yes, and no it will be a smog legal motor except for the fact it is a 2piece seal , other than that it will be smog legal. By the way most people who smog your car dont check to see if it is a 2piece seal motor. If i dont pass no worries, i will get it passed from a friend.

yes, i meant it has 350 mains. I have a pair of edelbrock performer heads that i might just use until i get it smogged and then switch to 220cc heads.

my plans are to make it a street/strip car,but i do want to drive it as much as i can. I hoping for 500hp if not, and i am sure it is possible. the engine is also really light. It is only 85 pounds by it self bare block. So i am sure i will lose a ton of weight off the car which is always nice. I will show every once in a while, but i just really want to have a fast street car. The pistons i will be using are je with 10.1 compression on 64cc heads, H beam rods, 4.00inch stroke witch will make it a 427. It will be a slow build cause i know i am in an expensive project.
