The torque converter lock-up signal is bundled with the ECM harness. If you're taking the ECM out, you're going to have to do something about the lock-up anyway, so that's about the only thing your'e going to have to address.
No problems with the rest of the stuff you mentioned.

The transmission is designed for lockup in cruise situations. Without the lockup, you'll build up heat that will damage your 3-4 clutch pack.
The lockup operation is fairly simple. The factory powered the solenoid through the brakelight switch (brake off, power on). The lockup is commanded by the ECM by providing a ground to complete the circuit. The options available are to: ground the circuit with a manual switch; use a single-pole, normally open pressure switch in the 4th gear pressure port and route the solenoid ground wire to it instead of back through the harness (grounds the solenoid when the tranny shifts to 4th gear OD); get a kit that provides the switches and harnesses to do the job, typically includes a vacuum switch to disengage the lockup in high load situations.
You need to be aware of what type solenoid you have. Most of the f-body transmissions I've heard of have a 2-wire solenoid, but I came across an '83 transmission, origin unkown but probably not f-body, that has a single wire solenoid - meaning it is grounded through the case, and engages when power is applied. Completely different than my '86 f-body TH700. However, the '83 system will be nice when the transmission goes in my non-computerized '57...

Not that one without an adapter which costs more than finding and buying an 8k tach with a 5500 RPM redline which came in the GTA and Trans Am's with the L98
