Ok I know this has been beaten to death and I have searched.
I have a 95 Northstar donor vehical and a 3rd gen. I would like to move everything over to the 3rg gen. I will use a V6 700R4 but will I have any problems with the oil pan? Will the computer throw a fit? Anyone have any ideas?
I know this has been done in a 4th gen so this is possible.

It would be cheaper in the long run to use a 350. Anything can be done with enough time and money but I wouldn't pay more to get less. You may want to search up a bit on this swap. There have been some lengthy discussions in the past.

I don't know why since he says he already has the donor car.
SportsCarShop - there is a search button in the upper right-hand corner of your screen. Try that.

It would be cheaper because you could part out the donor car and buy everything you'd need for a healthy 350 or LT1, and end up with more power (and perhaps as good of economy).

computer shouldn't through a fit if you bringing everything over from the donor car.

Ok sounds good now the only thing that bothers me still is the oil pan. Think it will need to be changed?

One question: (Ididn't research this) Doesn't the Northstar have the water pump on what would be the rear of the motor if mounted longitudinally? The water pump is belt driven off one of the cams. Looks like that would present big problems if it went out.
Just thought I'd demonstrate my ignorance on the Northstar.

If you are serious about doing this, contact mark@hpsalvage.com. He has done this exact same swap and will let you know exactly what you are getting into. check out his website at www.hpsalvage.com and check out the projects. The car is posted there.

I wouldn't call it exact. That's a '94 Camaro. The only thing 3rd gen was the V6 transmission.
