Take pictures before taking anything apart and during the process for reference when you put it back together. Label each one as you disconnect/remove so you know where they go back when the 350 is in place of the 305.
The only real difference in all of the controls is the knock sensor and module. I got mine from gmpartsdirect.com . If you search, you may even find the part numbers (I think I posted them while I was doing mine this summer, but I'm too lazy to search for you).
Now, how to make the 350 run to its potential: Change all of the exhaust from the factory manifolds to the rear bumper, preferably starting with headers and continuing on back with 3" when the pipes join together. Replace the single snorkel air cleaner with either a factory dual snorkel, or fabricate a dual snorkel yourself (see the latter pages of the "Father/son swap" sticky at the top of this forum - I may have posted the knock sensor p/n's in there as well - I can't remember exactly where I did that).

I happened to be looking in the Father/Son sticky for other reasons, and came across the knock sensor #'s. Since I'm such a nice guy, here you are: "... knock sensor & module if you go with CC q-jet. You'll need 350 pieces, which ... from the HO 350 kit and gmpartsdirect.com are 10456288, $27.80, and 16128261, $48.39."
Prices as of May '05.

The Dual Snorkel item didn't actually make it into the Father & Son project..... It was a little after that thread was closed.

I can't say for sure exactly how much it improved the performance but it was definately worth the effort!

The changeover from Carb 305 to Carb 350 should be almost seemless and relatively easy since the original wiring harness and all the original hoses etc. can stay exactly the same!

Thanks for clearing that up, Kurt. I forgot that your dual snorkel came later. I've now added that link in the sticky.

Depending on the year of the 350 block, you may need a different flywheel or starter - I used a 1969 block, and had to get an older model starter, which is larger, and comes really really close to my headers - in hind sight I'd switched flywheels instead to keep the smaller starter - but it all works.
