Most likely there will be an improvement unless the 350 is worn out. What year 350 is this? Depending on year you may need a new flexplate and do some minor modifications to get the intake manifold to bolt on.

Fbody891,
What's wrong with your 305? If you're 305 is running good, and not causing you any mechanical problems, swapping in the truck 350 to get some perceived performance gain is probably not going to net a gain equal to the amount of effort you have to put into the project.
In other words... IMPO - If the 305 is running good and you just want to transplant a stock 350 truck engine to gain some cubic inches [IMPO] don't waste your time.
On the other hand... if the 305 is near failure and getting ready to meet it's maker at the JunkYard in the sky..... You're bother's truck engine would be the perfect price and the perfect building block to BUILD UPON to replace a tired or faulty 305. Most guys around here wouldn't spend the time rebuilding a 305 when a 350 would be the same $$.
Sincerely,
Kurt
