put a vacuum can style HEI on there and for lockup, there is a tech article for a switch on the main page, or several companies sell lock-up kits through summit or jegs. Furthermore, I'd swap heads if those are factory 400 heads, unless you like making 180hp out of that engine.

its not a stock motor, it has been rebuilt, I plan on swapping heads. has an unknown cam shaft, its not lumpy but theese motors swallow alot of cam.

build a vortec 400 on nitrous on a 1 grand budget
I'd start by cleaning that sucker off, and finding out what head castings are on it. If it's not stock, and has tons of HP, it should have wicked heads on it right?

Also, pull the cam and look for a stamp on it. Keep the lifters in order, just in case the cam is reusable.

I'm running bowtie overdrives TCC lockup kit. pretty simple and straight to the point. plus it was like 25 bucks IIRC.
Wanna keep the 700? TV geometry and TCC lockup are a must. If its low miles throw a transgo kit at it. The reprogramming one. Hughes sells a 2500 RPM lockup converter for 250 bones on summit.
You can pick up an MSD street fire HEI on ebay for a hair over 100 bucks. Killer deal right there.
I just picked up a 4777-4 off of ebay for 130...cant wait to replace the 1850-2: with it

I have the motor in my garage, im selling my cam, and the th350, it needs a new gasket in the tailshaft, trans fluid all over my garage floor but i told my mom we needed to do the floor but nooo.
edit, If I can sell everything Im looking to sell, I will buy vortecs/intake if not just a performer rpm and a cheap carb/dizzie
is the bowtie overdrive tc lock up manual?
