I'm thinking about doing a ls1 swap...
Hey guys I'm thinking about doing an ls1 swap to my old and tried tpi 350 gta(with 200,000 miles on it). I called a place that I've heard of through the guy who sold me a t-56 which is now in my car but the place that I called said that the t-56 that I have won't boot up to the ls1 motor so I'd have to get the tranny with it and the cheapest one he's got is $3800. That comes with everything pcm, harness, the whole nine yards. Now I am asking if you guys would be able to help me out by telling me what are some of the prices you guys have gotten when doing your swaps. And how much money did you end up spending so I can get an Idea of how much I need.

was that 3k for a 2000' and up engine or below? Cause I've heard that the 2000 and up got the z06 clutch which can handle more power. but like he said where can I get it for that price thats really cheap.

Mine is a '98, with an LS6 intake, though someone thought it'd be a great idea to drill hole in the top of it. I'll have to figure out how to fill that in.
As the stock (I think) cluctch was nicked up from being in the box of parts, I got a spec stage 3, we'll see how it all works out.

mine is a 2000 has about 40k miles on it, did not come with a clutch so I went with an aftermarket one rated for my head/cam swap.
It came out of a local car clubs member's car, he wrecked it into a highwall median so he was parting out the car.
As for finding one yourself for 3k, I dont know where you can find one, I think I got a pretty good deal personally
