Some input would be awsome (305 to a 383)
Well, I am in the process of buying a camaro, and I am looking at a 1991 Camaro RS (305 manual with TBI). Just needs a new door and some paint shot at it, and it will be a REALLY nice car.
I'm planning on changing the 305 out for a 383 stroker crate engine, should I go carbed or leave it TBI? If I go carbed, will I pass emissions? I know the cars computer system controls the ignition, but an MSD setup would bypass that, wouldn't it?
If I decided to go TBI, its as simple as bolting the intake manifold from the 305 onto the 383?
I know my tranny will not last long with that kind of power, it has a T-56 in its future, but will my clutch hold up?
Also, I plan do a NOS setup later on in the car's life, what kinds of things should I look for when shopping for the 383?
Sorry if this has been covered before, I was having some issues finding it specifically....

Won't pass emissions if they open the hood. May if all they do is sniff and you tune very, very carefully.
For TBI details, check out the TBI forum. discussed all the time, stickies that will give you a place to start.
Clutch lasting depends upon how much you slip it to keep the T5 alive. Get a T56 ASAP.
Power adder, see that forum.
