LT1s use the same headers as a SBC, but they have D-shaped ports. Hedman makes headers for that style port IIRC.
GM performance parts is the only mfg of a carb manifold for the LT1 as far as I know, but its designed to use any normal 4bbl carb - Holley, Qjet, Edelbrock, etc.
Any SBC distributor can be used.

Nope, you have two main choices
LT1 cam driven (you wont have any trouble using it.
LT1 stock housing with electric pump that bolts into the front and you plug the rear drive hole, the pumps come with the plug to fill in said hole.

Oh, one thing I did forget to mention - on the LT1 timing cover, you will have to plug the hole for the Optispark, as you'll no longer be using it since you have an old style distributor. I think just a large freeze plug should be fine.

Pretty much, yea. Its not alot different than the TPI guys changing over to a carb, just the particulars are different. Its pretty straightforward.

It would be cheaper to find a used LT1 harness/PCM set-up than it would be to convert to carb.
Keep it like God intended, or sell the engine and get a "regular" SBC 1 to put in your car.

You would end up with more in the kit to convert it to a carb than doing like five7 said and buying the PCM and harness seeing you have everything except that.
