Swapping a 400.

I was thinking of instead of the conventional 305-350 swap for my 85 Trans I would go to a 400 I was wondering who here would think that it is viable.

Re: Swapping a 400.

The 305 to 400 swap increased my mileage my 6 mpg. 18 mpg at 60-65 with a 305, and now 24 mpg at 80 with the 400. I didn't build a race car, I built a daily driver. Something that would be emissions legal, ran on 87-89 octane gas, and would last 100,000 miles. It's fun to drive, has plenty of power at every speed, and I take it everywhere. If I decide I need more power, I'll just change the cam. But for now, it is doing just fine. Just decide how much power you want, where your RPM range will be, and go from there. Built it and have fun !

I'm sorry about such a delayed reaction if you see this Rapid. But do you have all of that under a stock hood or do you have a Scooped hood of some fashion. Cause that looks amazing but a little tall. Very clean engine.
