what heads
im in the process of putting together my 383 stroker
i was figuring out my compression ration and with a 64cc head compression is 10.6 to 1 and with a 72cc head its about 9.9 to 1
its going to be a daily driver on pump gas and im only going to spin it 6300
so what im askin is
A. 10.6 to 1 too much compression with a cast head
B. wat are some good 72 cc heads
all input welcome
zig

Re: what heads
I purchased a set of patriot performance alum. heads and was really happy with the quality and performance, and 10.6 is not to much compression for an alum. headed motor with a decent cam.

Re: what heads
Dart iron eagles are good heads, and will make good power, but I would much prefer to run an alum. head so you can have better compression. The dart alum. heads are not enough cheaper than afrs for me to want to run them, The Patriots are cheaper than either and will outperform the Darts from what I have seen, but you may get different opinions on this. I would reccomend vortecs on a budget, Patriots if you want aluminum, and afrs if you really want it to run awesome.

Re: what heads
i run the iron world products, with 202 1.6's with 11:1 no problems. they are pretty worked over on the runners at 220cc, i suppose that is irealivent to compression/detontaion if thats why you are worried.
oh thats on 93 pump gas, i have ran 91 in a few times without any detonation as well.

If you do want to run motown 220 or sportman 2s , call the engine shop and ask about cosmetic blem heads, I know you can get huge discounts!
