What motor mounts will I need to drop an 85 350 carbed in my 90 RS (original 305)?

Thanks

Use the mounts from the 305.

Re: Motor Mounts

The 305 mounts should be the same as the 350 mounts. You can literally bolt it right in without much hassle.

Re: Motor Mounts

Sounds good...

Is there anyway I can check to see if either is broken without having to remove the engine? I ask this question because i'm rebuilding my 350 which is already in the car and when I get the rebuild done I will be doing it in a place where there are not parts shops in case I need them. Is there anyway I can check or will I have to wait until I get it out for the rebuild?

This design doesn't "break" (although the transmission mount does). However, the engine mounts do sag, so the typical fix is to install polyurethane inserts in the half that mounts to the crossmember.

I just read a few posts stating that solid mounts are not that good for everyday street use. Something about parts/bolts shaking loose.

You have to remove the mounts from the crossmember. That's the same regardless of which type of inserts you use.

How to install them in the clamshell is provided in the instructions that come with the inserts. You have to drill out rivets, for one thing.
