tbi to tpi
I got a 92 chevy 1/2 ton 305. i'm installing a 92 tuned port into the truck. I got the ecm from the donor car and can build my harness no problem. I know I have to change the pump in the tank and already modify my acc. for the tuned port. what i'm looking for is info on the speed sensor. is the truck a 2k sensor and the tpi a 4k sensor? if so will a sensor from a tpi car 700r4 bolt into the truck 700r4 or do i have to change the tone ring also?
If theres a thread for this point me to it plz. I've looked a little but get all kinds of info but not what i'm looking for

Not 3rd gen related
92 truck should have a 4L60E, please confirm before you lose trans control
90-92 TPI requires 4000ppm VSS signal, yes. 4L60E should output 40ppr signal

nope 92 truck has 700r4. i believe it was 95 or 96 the 4le60 was putin. reason i'm asking here is cuz no one on truck forumns know crap. does the 7747 ecm do 2000k/mile? thats the ecm thats running the tbi right now. i was here looking for help since i'll tpi installed soon. just need to get info on the vss. is there a way to change in prom the ppm?
Re: tbi to tpi
Dads 91 and neighbors 90 are both 4L60E's. Chevy 1500's
Be absolutely sure its a 4L60 before swapping. The 4L60 will have a TV cable where the 4L60E will have a large round connector
Corvette ECM should be a weatherproof version of the 7730. Any changes you can do to one, you can do to the other. Just double the conversion factor in the ECM to get 2000ppm (its not 2000k). It should be 4000ppm speedo signal because 2000ppm signals were phased out in the mid 80s. In fact the only car I know of with a 2000ppm speedo signal that anyone bothers to mod is a Fiero

it's a 4l60. I just read somewhere that the truck ran a 2000k pulse and the camaro ran a 4000k pulse

Re: tbi to tpi
I did swap this very motor out of my 88 chevy 1/2 ton into a 86 camaro berlinetta and installed tpi on it back then. then i had a fuel line burst caught car on fire was able to save motor. put in this current 92 chevy but the tpi that i had on it was badly damaged. got new tpi from a 92 camaro and got the apcu from moates to burn custom chips. hopefully i can help others swap tpi's in once i get this monster going again. thanks for allowing to contunie. only thing i dont know right now is the vss. i got tbi running now. just need to figure this vss out before i jump in and get it done
