what are my options?
hi again... ive been fighting problems with this 383 my friend built for months. Ive got it running pretty good accept for the stumble at WOT. Come to find out a cam lobe went south. Im done with this engine and its time to move on.
What are my options that will go in without ALOT of work?
These arent my only choices, but i was thinking maybe a 454, an lt1, or a ls 327. I dont want another carb, im done with that also.. time for fuel injection. I have a t56 that i will mount behind the new engine. Im willing to change the input shaft for the ls engine, but im just not sure what else must be done to install it.. Thanks guys! What would you put in it?

Re: what are my options?
You can keep looking into those options, but I'd suggest you start by investing just $500 into converting your current 383 to a hydraulic ruller set-up. Take a look at this:

Doing this and switching to EFI is still cheaper than any of your other options.

Re: what are my options?
The cheapest and easiest is to find a junkyard dually pickup that's been totalled, and get the throttle body off the 454. Then get the rest of the TBI system from an '87-'95 pickup 350, and plan on a custom prom chip. You'll need to address the fuel pump situation, TBI needs 12-15 psi to work right. Holley offers a TBI to 4-bbl adapter plate.

Re: what are my options?
TBI is injection, you didn't specify multi-point / multi-port, whichever.
The cheapest option there is to start with a Stealth Ram, 30# injectors, and start with the stock '90-'92 TPI computer, or a MegaSquirt.

Re: what are my options?
If you can't find any good deals on any used parts, the Stealth Ram runs $326, the fuel rail kit with AFPR runs $240, the injectors run $260-280, and Hawks should sell you a used harness for around $200.
