Transmission swap done in 05 with zero issues and to this point has been bulletproof. setup with proper clutch safely switch, etc...all parts from known good donor car and has been fine for the last 5 years.

Just completed a 350 swap and now we have no fuel pump prime or starter activity when we kick the key forward. All fusible links appear good, wires are correct on starter, 'theft deterrent relay' replaced (one in the kick panel behind the goo), all other wiring appears normal.

We eliminated the ac/smog/etc and all connectors are tidied up and tucked sway. No bare/chaffed wires are visible. All grounds are reconnected.

it simply has no fuel pump prime and the starter is dead when you kick the key forward. motor will not roll.

if we bypass the vast majority of the in car wiring we can roll the engine using the key but we still don't get spark or fuel. could the ECM not be getting power and thus not kicking things on or are those functions not controlled by the ECM in these cars? could it still be VATS interfering?

We're completely lost at this point as the car ran perfectly fine PRIOR to the swap right up until we put it on stands and tore it down. ANY help is appreciated.

Fine where you lose power in the circuits

The starter is a good one to start with because its rather simple

Likely either popped a fusible link or forgot to put one back on

all wires have been double checked and all fusible links appear good. wires on the starter are correct. we've tried bypassing most of the wiring and the car will roll but does not get fuel or spark due to no pump prime or presumably no power at the ECU

Which ecu did you use? I just did this swap(305 tbi to 350 tbi) and used the existing 305 computer. It runs...however needing a new tune for the 350...I first tried it with the computer from the caprice and it didn't work...threw the 305 comp back in and it fired first try.

I havent been on this in a while......well thanks for everyones ideas....actually found a ground wire not connected. started right up second turn. Now i think a tune is gonna be needed but looking possibly going carb. The closest dyno is forever away so dont know yet bout that. have been hear i should do this wasnt sure but do any of u guys know if i should replace the 305 injectors? or the knock sensor?

yes, you are supposed to change the injectors, knock sensor, ESC module, and chip. See the following thread...https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tbi/...-350-swap.html It will run however very lean and youll get check engine light now and then.

Thanks again i just checked that out, and a very helpful page it is......now i like to know what all is needed done to go carb........ don't have not much of an idea on that so any input would be greatly appreciated on that.....like i said the closest dyno is going to be quite a trip away

No real need to dyno it. You can hook a laptop into the ecm and data log it to see what it needs. If it is all stock, you could just get chip designed for a stock tbi 350 that will get you by. Otherwise visit https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/diy-prom/ and go from there...

Yeah never really thought of that....problem is though is its got a wild cam in it and the guy that rebuilt the engine doesn't have the specs on the cam so i really don't know lol
