hello, i am new to 3rd gens, and camaros, and pretty much working on these types of cars in general. I am 19 and love camaros, especially 3rd gens, I would really like to own one.

With this beign said, I have found one i am going to look at. the car is a 1992 camaro. originally had a tbi 305 in it, the owner prior to him says he swapped in a tbi 350 from a chevy 1500. it has a hypertech chip. what do you guys think about this? is this okay? also, it must be a reliable car, because I am trading my daily driver for it, and it would the nbe my daily driver. every day.

Also, he has no documentation of the motor swap. what can i do to see that is in fact what it is? I am really just confused as to what to think about this whole truck motor thing.

here is a little info about the car. This is what the posting says

1992 Camaro , I have added the IROC-Z decal set ! The car is clean and runs great with clean title in hand..Has 2-way Alarm,T-tops, Side exhaust, 17in. Torque Thrust II rims,NEW paint, Hypertech chip, 5.7 350 T.B.I.,Transmission recently Re-Built , new 3:73 Gears,Etc.Have receipts and documentation

Check the block at the back driver's side. It will say displacement there. You're getting into a bit of a can of worms here debating on the quality of it. Quite honestly no paperwork makes me more than a bit cynical of it.

 

what do you mean debating on the quality of it? thats what im saying, i just want to know if this would be a dumb idea. i really like the car, and it is in great condition, but the motor is what concerns me. what do you guys think? if i check the displacement, and it is in fact a 350? i wouldnt mind it if it was a proejct, or weekend warrior, but it will be my daily driver as well
