What year Pontiac? Pontiac stopped making their own motors in the late 1970's.

A Pontiac what? Strato Chief?

If it's a third gen 350, it will work.

I'm 99% sure anything pre 72 has a different bell housing pattern.

Re: stupid question but just checking

A 350 in 1969 Pontiac will most likely be a Pontiac engine in which case the bellhousing will be different. But some of those old Pontiacs had Chevy engines in them. Easy way to tell is Pontiac has an aluminum timing cover, Chevy uses stamped cover and the water pump attaches to the engine at two points on either side of the cover.

Re: stupid question but just checking

if its a pontiac 350 it has a different bell housing bolt pattern and will NOT bolt to your 700r4. If its a chevy 350..... it WILL bolt to your trans.
